Unplanned Water Interuption 23 November 2016
The water maintenance team together with the external service provider will be repairing a non functional bulk valve which broke in a closed position thus resulting in low water pressure or no water at all mainly affecting Klarinet extension 6, 7, and 8 water supply.
Part of scope of work is to replace leaking pipes in order to reduce water losses. Unfortunately other areas will also be affected due to a malfunctioning isolation valve thus necessitating closing the supply directly from Point A reservoir. While the maintenance team is busy replacing the faulty isolation valve Educon Consulting Engineers and CMP BEE Civil Engineering will tie-in to the existing bulk line and it is anticipated that the shutdown will take 12hours from 07h00 to 20h00 on the 23 November 2016 and the following areas will be affected:
- Klarinet Extention 1-8
- Klarinet Industrial
- Pine Ridge
- Paxton Correctional Services
- Kwa-Guqa New Extenions (Ezinambeni)
To allow recovery period is envisaged that the system will be fully pressured within 24hours. Water tankers will be provided to clinics, prison and at strategic points in the affected areas of the town.
