Young people represent Emalahleni in Districts games.

The Youth Development Unit in the office of the Executive Mayor has assembled a group young people who will represent the Emalahleni Local Municipality and the community in the annual   Nkangala District Municipalities Mayoral Games Tournament, taking place on 26 November 2016.11.24

 According to the assistant manager of the Youth Development Unit Mr Bongani Nkosi, the teams which will participate in various sporting codes are made up of young people drawn from all areas within the Municipality.

Participants, all under the age 21, come from Ga-Nala(Kriel)/ Thubelihle, Phola/Ogies, Rietspruit and eMalahleni (Witbank).They   were collected by buses to come and partake in the trials where an elimination process took place. Trials were held  at Witbank High School.

The host Municipality for 2016 is Victor Khanye Local Municipality (Delmas). “We are ready, in as far as all the logistical arrangements are concerned and I can confidently say that we are one of the most thoroughly organized Municipalities in the entire District,” says Mr Nkosi

The Sporting Codes for this Tournament are as follows:
