“Empowered women empower the nation”
Seventy years ago, more than 20 000 women stood together and made history.
Today, we honour the women of 1956 whose courage helped shape a democratic South Africa — and celebrate the women who continue to lead, serve, build and transform our communities and our nation.
From eMalahleni to every corner of South Africa, women continue to make their mark in homes, communities, business, government, education and every sector of society.
Their courage inspired a nation. Let their legacy inspire our action.
Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo.
Let us build a South Africa where every woman is safe, respected, empowered and given the opportunity to thrive.
Honouring the past. Empowering women. Building the future.
