The purpose of this programme is to create awareness pertaining to Waste Transport Permits, also referred to as the Certificate of Approval to Render Waste Management Services, as per requirements of Section 14(1),(5),(6)Â and (7) of the Emalahleni Local Municipality Solid Waste Management By-Laws, including Section 25 of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No. 59 of 2008). The target groups for this awareness are any persons who dispose of business, industrial or recyclable waste at an appropriately permitted waste handling facility or waste disposal facility.
