The Municipality would like to update the community on the progress regarding the power outages affecting the following areas:
Bellinie Estate
The transformer has been secured, however the supplier will only be able to deliver tomorrow morning, thereafter repairs will begin.
Del Judor extensions and a portion of Witbank Ext 16
There is a cable fault at Point D Command Reservoir, testing is still underway. We would like to emphasise the importance of restoration at the Point D Command Reservoir and Water Treatment Plant as it supplies water to other reservoirs. Therefore if it is not prioritised, water supply will be affected. Witbank Provincial Hospital, Life Cosmos Hospital and the Klipfontein Police Station are also affected by the power outage and these are high priority areas.
Blancheville and Riverview
As previously communicated, the testing equipment is currently being utilised at Point D, however it will be sent to Blancheville once the fault at Point D is detected. Riverview will be attended after the Blancheville area is restored. Further updates will be provided as the team makes progress with both areas.
Klarinet Ext 8
The area remains affected due to a faulty transformer.
The Municipality apologises profusely to the communities who have experienced prolonged power outages, which include Bellinie Estate, Blancheville, Riverview and Klarinet Ext 8. We are aware of the frustration and inconvenience caused and we request your continued patience and cooperation under these strenuous circumstances.
