Dear Valued Electricity Customer
As a valued customers you are hereby notified that Emalahleni Local Municipality will be disconnecting the electricity service and raising reconnection fines of all LPU (Large Power Users) and Business customers that are not paying their Municipal accounts which includes customers who are not paying the full amount and have no arrangements.Â
LPU and Business customers entails all customers that are trading as business in their premises which includes but not limited to:
•â  â Spaza Shops,
•â  â Lodges, Bed & Breakfast, Student Accommodations,
•â  â Residential households renting out backrooms, Flats,
•â  â Tavern’s, Bottle stores,
•â  â Shisanyama “Braai Eateriesâ€,
•â  â Car Washes,
•â  â Churches / Schools,
•â  â Street Containers vendors connected to the grid etc.
All business trading without the municipal accounts utilizing the municipality services will be disconnected and fined. Criminal charges will be opened against such businesses.Â
We encourage all LPU & Business customers to visit our Municipal Offices and make payment arrangements to avoid being disconnected and to apply for services applicable for their businesses.
